PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Assistant Manager is to assist the Site Manager in the development and maintenance of a team of people who deliver car wash services to the customer effectively according to company systems (quality), efficiently according to company standards (speed and safety), and cost effectively by maintaining budgeted costs (profitability). In addition, the Assistant Manager is responsible for the appearance and maintenance of all aspects of the site, including the upholding of values in the organizational identity.

KEY ACTIVITIES

  1. Increasing Customer Satisfaction
  2. Working at entrance end to:
  3. Train correct techniques for guiding on vehicles.
  4. Monitor entrance-end customer service attendant for speed, safety, and adherence to procedures.
  5. Coach for improvement.
  6. Working at the pay station to:
  7. Train correct procedures for interacting with customers.
  8. Ensure that pay stations are manned at the appropriate times.
  9. Daily Operations:
  10. Perform opening procedures, closing procedures, and manager’s checklist correctly and on time.
  11. Maintain the functionality and appearance of all tunnel equipment, pump-room equipment, point-of-sale software and hardware, outdoor equipment, landscape, and general property needs.
  12. Address all repairs with the intention of them being completed before the next day’s opening.
  13. Ensure that tunnel operations procedures are being followed consistently, correctly, and according to standards.
  14. Coach employees for improvement in above areas.
  15. Customer Interactions:
  16. Handle customer complaints effectively, including damage claims and resolve incident reports to company standards.
  17. Handle routine customer inquiries.
  18. Train employees to effectively interact with customers
  19. After Care Management (QB Position):
    1. Direct the placement of vehicles in the After Care (AC)
    2. Facilitate the next critical vehicle to leave the AC area.
    3. Facilitate customers being in position to enter their vehicle when it’s completed.
    4. Ensure that AC procedures are being followed consistently, correctly, and according to time standards.
    5. Manage the placement, speed, quality, and breaks of the AC teams.
    6. Ensure that the supplies (towels, chemicals, etc.) are maintained.
    7. Maximize customer interactions through greetings and sendoffs.
    8. Quality check detail services whenever lack of a second manager or low volume allows.
  20. Increasing Bottom-Line Revenue
  21. Human Resource Management:
  22. Assist the Site Manager in the scheduling of employees based on projected volume and contingency planning.
  23. Participate when requested in the interviewing and selection of full-time (and part-time) employees for maximum flexibility.
  24. Train new employees.
  25. Recommend disciplinary action when needed.
  26. Equipment:
  27. Follow all preventative maintenance procedures.
  28. Monitor the use of chemicals and maintain inventory.
  29. Reduce waste in chemicals
  30. Ensure that all utilities are not used unnecessarily.
  31. Place orders for soap and parts to maintain appropriate inventory.
  • Developing Skills
  1. Observe and immediately correct non-compliance to all procedures and safety programs.
  2. Demonstrate parts of every task not previously trained on or not being performed correctly.
  3. Continuously discuss, role-play, and practice every technical aspect of running the operation.
  4. Continuously advance CSA’s through the training modules.
  5. Participate in and conduct weekly Maintenance Meetings, weekly Manager Meetings, and Monthly Meetings. Attend and participate in bi-weekly Executive Meetings.
  6. Administration
    1. Review payroll for accuracy and submit on time when directed by the Site Manager.
    2. Consistently and correctly maintain all employee files.
    3. Report all employment status changes to Corp Administration immediately.
    4. Audit and perform cash management duties when directed by the Site Manager.

The Car Wash Assistant Manager’s responsibility is to assist the Car Wash Manager. Candidates must have leadership experience, possess team building and management skills in order to be considered for the role.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrate ability to genuinely interact with customers to show passion, knowledge, dedication, and commitment.
  • Manage all staff in absence of the Car Wash Manager
  • Monitor and order chemical and vending machine inventory
  • Work directly with Car Wash Manager to oversee the operation of the car wash
  • Assist the Car Wash Manager is diagnosing and repairing equipment
  • Adjust and create scheduling for Car Wash Attendants
  • Measure and calculate chemical cost and monitor inventory
  • Implement, monitor, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the safety, cleanliness and reliability of the wash
  • Assist with the coaching, training, and development of new and existing staff
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

PURPOSE

The primary reason that the position of a shift supervisor exists at Brightworks Car Wash is to support the store manager in sustaining an organization that is providing unreasonable customer service in a clean, safe, friendly, fast-paced environment.

    1. Check every customer vehicle before it enters the wash to ensure that the vehicle does not have any visible safety issues.
    2. Monitor the speedy processing of customer vehicles.
    3. Monitor CSRs cash register operation and loading technique.
    4. Monitor equipment for proper operation.
    5. Monitor CSR’s selling of fast passes.
    6. Protect cash through accurate cash register operation.
  • Customer Satisfaction
    1. Conduct initial and periodic checks throughout the day to eliminate cleaning problems in the wash process on days and shifts supervised.
    2. Conduct a safety check of every vehicle entering the wash to either prevent entry or warn customers of potential risks
    3. Perform cleaning procedures of the tunnel and equipment daily
    4. Monitor uniform appearance.
    5. Ensure that CSRs smile and give two thumbs up to every customer when delivering guide-on instructions
    6. Check to see that all trash cans are emptied in the vacuum area
    7. Check the functioning of vacuums throughout the day
    8. Maintain the cleanliness of the vacuum area throughout the day

    1. Continue to improve knowledge of equipment
    2. Cross train at least one employee on one new task every week until every employee can perform every function at the wash
    3. Ensure that all daily paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time on days and shifts supervised.

    1. Learn to perform every function at the car wash.
    2. Learn how to train new customer service attendants.
    3. All the steps of the customer service attendant procedures are followed correctly.
    4. Continually learn how to maintain and repair car wash equipment.

  2. Facilitate the speedy processing of customer vehicles by following the correct procedure for every vehicle through the car wash.
  3. Guide on customers using distinctive and clear hand signals.

  5. Review the entrance end sign instructions with every customer.
  6. Give the customer a “thumbs-up” sign when their vehicle is placed correctly and ready to start the wash process.
  7. Continually clean all areas of the car wash between guiding customers onto the conveyor.
  8. Perform preventive maintenance on the car wash equipment.
  9. Perform minor equipment repairs as trained and directed.
